Boatspeed transforms your smartphone into a fully functional display instrument. Large, high-contrast digits show speed (SOG), course (COG), and heel – ideal for use in direct sunlight or from a distance in the cockpit.
Boatspeed uses OpenSeaMap for navigation. Users can plan routes, set waypoints, and record their trips. The integration of weather data allows for the calculation of values such as VMG (Velocity Made Good), helping ambitious sailors find the optimal course to the wind.
Your data belongs to you; everything stays on your device. Recorded tracks can be exported (GPX, CSV) or shared as images to document or analyze your experiences.
A real highlight is the regatta countdown. Once the countdown has finished, the app automatically switches to speed mode.
